Alberta Rose
I met a lady today whose real name was Alberta Rose.
I tried to explain to her that that was my online name, but I don't think she knew what the dickens I was on about! :p Just tickled my funny bone. |
Re: Alberta Rose
Makes me giggle, and I don't know why -- but laughing is good for the soul! :D

Re: Alberta Rose
I have actually met someone in Canada whose actual name is Cinderella (and she's my age too, although I don't know why that should matter?)

The names I see when doing my volunteer work make shake my head. Too many to mention except perhaps the latest one. "Die-ane", now why would anyone think that's a good way to spell a woman's name? The lady in question is adamant it be spelled that way. Call me old fashioned but what's wrong with Diane? |

(I'll get my coat and am now leaving the thread) Have you ever met anyone called Alan? |
Re: Alberta Rose
Before naming a child parents should consider what difficulties the child may experience in later life with such a name. There have been instances in England, and I'm sure elsewhere, when parents have given their child as middle names, the names of team members of the team they support.
