It's very obvious out there on a daily basis. I think this guy has it right:

"It's clear from this research that most Alberta drivers could benefit from a regular review of the rules of the road to refresh their memories and knowledge," said Scott Wilson, a senior policy analyst with the AMA.


Why not have a refresher course every now and then, even if it's just an online course. I think it would help immensely.

And what about the people that come from other countries and can just exchange their license? How do they know the rules of the road in Canada?:confused:

I think they found that motorcycle riders scored highest!

I've always found that riding a motorbike helps me score:thumbsup:;)

Countries with reciprocal agreements with Alberta are Austria, Belgium, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Switzerland, United Kingdom (not including Northern Ireland), United States.

It is still incumbent upon the person exchanging to familiarize themselves with the rules of the road in Alberta or Canada but no-one actually checks as far as I know.:ohmy:

While your on the subject of Alberta driving - we are going to Calgary in 2 weeks and i have been trying to read up on the driving laws etc. I know about Stopping for School Buses, turning right on a red light and yielding right of way at 4 way intersections but was wondering if there was anything else we need to know? I have never driven on the right before and am a little nervous, luckily we have someone (Thank you Getting There!!!!) meeting us at the airport to follow back to our accommodation so we don't get lost or crash!

So if you hear on the news about a crazy english lady driving on the wrong side of the road, chances are it's me! :rofl:

You got that wrong. In the City of Calgary, there is no such thing;):p

Driving in Calgary is a breeze, most of the drivers here don`t obey the rules. You will be fine:p

Never heard of that in lethbridge :eek:

I know that driving here is alot easier than the uk, even the 2hrs to calgary is a breeze, boring but not hard.
I would ask them to goto the uk and drive there, especially around Preston :(
