Air Canada website issues?

I was larking about last night (Monday) checking fares costs and the AC site was completely unresponsive. I could make the round trip selection but no input boxes took input and clickable links were enabled but didn't respond.

I checked various is it down sites and they all showed some problems with lots of people unable to check in, but no-one complaining they couldn't book or search.

I did find one of the is it down sites saying they'd been down for over 2200 days.

I couldn't see anything on their Twitter page but today it seemed to acknowledge a problem affecting check in but not much else and how it was all running again now.

The website is just as ineffective as yesterday. Here's the url I'm trying.
https://www.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco/home.html
I've looked for alternatives but keep getting back to this one and it doesn't work.

I remember reading recently that when people call AC with IT glitches they sometimes recommend using Google Chrome as the browser - maybe worth a try if you haven't already?

RE: post # 1@ BristolUK.
I logged onto your link and it looks normal and I can make any booking.
I'm currently in Bali and my browser is old-fashioned AOL.

It's those dental x-rays again, you're head's emissions amount to a national emergency, do you glow in the dark?

Them were the days.

Chrome seems okay but I don't have that. That 2200 days was meant to be 200

Might it be something to do with the version of Firefox I'm currently using? It's an ESR version (so I can keep NoSquintPLus). I gather it's primarily intended for system admins (who may not want to book flights) but everything else works on it.

Thanks for the answers so far.

I had exactly the same problem booking a flight on EZjet's website last week using Safari.

On the advice of the entity on the other end of their live chat window, I switched to Chrome and had no further issues.

I flew on AC last week, the baggage belt was broken. They had confusing signage and a officious older lady speaking sharply to people who went the wrong way. Cheap though and on time.

Yes, that was the bit I found.

We confirm a computer issue this AM affecting check-in & call centres. Airport check-in is resolved & we’re getting everyone on their way. Web and mobile check-in & customer call centres are still affected & we’re working hard to get this resolved.
It doesn't sound like the whole website not doing a thing, it makes it look like small parts, for a short period and now back up.

I just tried it on my mother in law's laptop. NoSqintPlus isn't so important to her - she's not on the internet enough - and she has the current FF.

So it's my ESR version then or just that it's not a Quantum version.

As long as the planes work, that's the main thing.
