Default Accommodation Antigonish NS

Hello it's been a while since I've been on here....just busy busy.

Anyway, we are planning on heading out to Antigonish in July for the Canadian Nationals (highland dancing). This event will be held in St. Francis Xavier University, and although we have been supplied with a list of possible places to stay including the university, some of them look like complete dives.

So my question is, does anyone know of a decent B&B or Hotel? We would be willing to travel to the event each day but probably no more than a 30 minute drive (it will be an early start).

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

We stay in the Claymore every time we are up there for work - Its a bit dated as far as hotels go but it "does the job" and the staff are great

Antigonish is a pretty town with St FX University sitting right in the middle. I am not sure about it's local B&Bs etc because we live in New Glasgow which is only 30 minutes drive along the highway (pretty drive too). You will pass through New Glasgow enroute to Antigonish. Our local hotels/motels are:

Holiday Inn Express (built 2009)
Quality Inn
Country Inn & Suites
Tara Motel

Depending on your dates, we also have lots of local events over the summer including a 3-day riverfront music jubilee

Can recommend the claymore stayed there last year. Good quality for price and easy to walk to the university and town.
