I rather admire the police's attitude. Why confront a crowd of teenagers and make the situation worse when you can just stay put inside a nice warm car?

As a guy in the crowd said - "...do not shoot anyone over snowballs" - I think that's a sentiment we can all get behind.

I agree. However, in my opinion somebody throwing a snowball and hitting a person who is not involved in the "antics" is no different to throwing a punch at that person. It's still physical assault in my mind.

I agree, and so even wiser of the police to stay in the car rather than get out and risk things getting worse. If they had retaliated I think few people would have praised them. A no win situation for the police.

You'd be amazed at how some young peopel treat the police. I was parked at a gas station one time and was standing outside my car, a 12 year old kid and his friend walked up to the car, spat on it and called me a F*****g pig. I wasn't even dealing with them, I was buying gas! I used his ball cap to clean it up. If his parents had complained, I would have been in the wrong. But you do have to have a thick skin to do the job and you can't act in anger.
