Well who knew?

I thought it was the prostate surgery, but all along it was the economy.

Many women and men stay in unions because living the single life is too costly

Thats true, not easy to live with a single income in metro Vancouver unless said income is high, so many do stay together just for the sake not having to go it alone on one income which many cannot do.

Possibly.

My wife and I split on friendly terms, I had no assets, she had no assests, no kids and our debt was about equal.

Only cost was the filing with the courts, but I assume I am probably not the typical divorce case...

two things, 1, its cheaper to keep her, 2, sex is normally free ( well if you are married its supposed to be) so a failing economy is more likely to encourage more of it to cheer you up surely? maybe they are not doing it right then again the economy isnt normally something id discuss in the bedroom when i want some anyway

It could also be that with higher unemployment many "older" married couples have had to eliminate boner medicine from the budget.
