At least he did something that involved skill which is more to be said of a lot of celebrities these days.

Re: The 2012 Celebrity Croakers Thread.

"In 1982 he won the world title at Jollees nightclub in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, three years after turning professional. With a cigarette clasped in his left hand and his D-shaped stomach filling a snuff-coloured shirt, Wilson's short stature required him to throw his darts upwards towards the triple-20 bed with a unique snatching gesture that nonetheless produced a graceful arc which made the commentator Sid Waddell reach for poetical synonyms to describe it. Wilson was, said Waddell, like "an archer compared to flamingos such as John Lowe and Eric Bristow. He's always throwing higher than he's looking, so his action has got to be perfect. It might look funny but it's always right, always locked in a groove."

"Within one year of that night, the Jocky bandwagon was rolling. He won the Ladbrokes' £2,000 tournament and signed up with the manager Ron Clover. He was on fire in 1981 at the Unipart championship in Teesside, beating a class field including Eric Bristow and John Lowe. But that year, at the Butlins Grand Masters semi-final, he was almost too drunk to walk. Bristow hammered him 5-0. The Clover team responded by locking Jocky in a room with food and a couple of cans of weak beer before big matches. It worked: Jocky won the 1982 world championship, beating Lowe convincingly 5-3. This feat set him up as a folk hero. Lowe was confident, well-spoken and drank halves on stage with moderation:"

and finally:

"He trained as a chef and worked as a miner at Seafield colliery, where he met Malvina, who was born in Argentina."

Quality.

Nobody mentioned Jim Marshall who popped his clogs recently.

Can suspect no-one had him either though.

His website

RIP to a man who changed the face of music

Sad to learn that Adam Yauch - MCA from the Beastie Boys - has died, aged 47.

Good guess on Burns, t-pot, he‘s been dead for about 16 years! I‘m going to point the fickle finger of fate at Willie Nelson - even though he‘s in a super healthy lifestyle in Maui he‘ll be 80 next year and he smoked for a long time. Incredible artist and incredible career! Also Pat Boone, he stands a chance of stroking out if Obama gets re-elected.

+ Hugh Hefner, just cause he was hosting on the SNL tape from the 70‘s I was watching today.
Okay, si I have:
Zsa Zsa Gabor
Willie Nelson
Pat Boone
Hugh Hefner and I‘m willing to sacrifice
Justin Bieber just to make it 5. Maybe he‘ll die of exposure or something.
