Absolutely not - I have the christmas cd's playing already :o

I also don't give a rats ass what anyone else thinks, sparkly lights and Boney M singing "Marys Boy Child" are order of the day

I started in July but I could only afford to turn them on for the five minutes it took to take the photo

...Well at least I didn't miss a bit on the roof.

I must be acclimatising. I actually got up the ladder last week, when it hit 10 degrees, and put all our lights up. I've only done the up-the-ladder routine once in minus 10 and that was enough for me and my fingers, thank you. I get it.

We have no extension leads sorted out to plug them in yet and that definitely should not happen until December. Half my neighbourhood is lit up, and it does look pretty, and I do love Xmas lights - but just not 6 or 8 weeks worth - they loose their special-ness!

I think someone on this site once hinted that many Canadians view them more as "winter" lights - hence the reason they are aglow from mid November till mid January. I dunno.

Jings - fab arrangement dahling

So going up on the roof was a bit touch and go (ladders and me don't mix) but heres ours so far.

Still have 2 more sets of reindeer to varnish to go with the santa sleigh - and I have to draw and cut rudolph out today!!!!

Yay - we are complete Xmas freaks here so don't care how garish it looks hahahaha

You might wish to adjust the lights on the front (second photo). The first thing I saw was "OAP".

mmm can just imagine - it will go from "that house on the hill with all the lights" to "don't look at that filth children"

Shit now you've got me thinking theoretically what else could be spelled on one side in rope lights, cheers. :(

Theoretically, you could write "Santa wolfbags". It would require some effort, though.

You could possibly combine the two suggestions? It may save money. It may also get you into the local newspaper. Or some sort of register.

My God, all the electricity in my house goes off if I so much as turn washing machine and kettle on at same time.
Could explain why Italians do not really light up their houses - perhaps a tree in the garden.

I have got some solar powered fairy lights this year to decorate all the terrace.
