Enjoyed a week in Malta recently, staying in the St Julians area. Unfortunately had several encounters with gay African guys who tried to sell their bodies whilst I was wandering along the promenade towards Gzira - one of them went as far as bending over and making female screams whilst pumping his bum in the air. They didn't seem to want to take no for an answer and were most put out when I just ignored them, having made the initial mistake of halting for a moment to see what they wanted. Later, on Sunday there were whole groups of them outside the main entrance to Valetta City talking to elderly white uncles with big grins but I knew enough to avoid them completely.

Somewhat spoiled the ambiance of what is otherwise a nice bit of the city and the Maltese were generally much friendlier than say the Spanish.
