Thanks for that heads-up ex reg. I've installed the add-on to Firefox (W8.1) and it works great.

The download function doesn't work though, presumably that's because it's only Firefox which is tunneled through a UK VPN and not the iPlayer Download app which is required to manage and play the downloads.

Out of interest I installed Zenmate on an Android tablet- it's not a Firefox add-on but a Google Play download and it's only free for 6 days - in any case, I couldn't get it to work.

For me it was click tools>Add Ons and just search Zenmate.

I had to disable Add block plus to watch ITV player but not for BBCiPlayer.
I'm using it on Win 7 myself, on a desktop and laptop. Tablets!! I take those not watch things on them.

I don't download just watch it.
And I can watch University Challenge which expat shield always had problems with.

Yes it's really great for streaming. I just hoped I could download programmes to watch when I don't have a broadband connection (in the same way you can with YouTube).

Thanks for that Mike, yes I am using it on my Galaxy Note (UKIPTV on Google play) but forgot to post back here about it.

Before I forget, BBC iPlayer is available for Android but you need to install GlobusVPN for it to work outside the UK.

How hard it is to give up on British TV!

In fairness, Malaysian TV is no great shakes.

Even Astro is so censored that most decent movies there have no head and no tail.

I was watching Johnny Depp's "From Hell" one time and about a quarter of the movie was missing :huh:

You should try Thai TV. Anybody smoking is fuzzed out. Any boobies fuzzed out (despite the fact you can see in any bar). But any kind of violence is allowed. Go figure.
