Very hot today. Was parked up at the hospital this afternoon, jumped into the hot little car and the outside temperature read 38 degrees :(

There is a new real time app just released for Malaysia weather called MyCuaca - it's on Apple store and it has radar and satellite images so you'll be able to see where it's raining now.

Strangely enough - I know it is raining now as I've just ridden back from Dave's bash at Sri Ananda Bahwan in Tanjung Bunga in torrential rain.

Very cooling admittedly and good for the plants, but based upon the forecast I was reading yesterday, not due until Friday.

It seems to me that the "Too Hot" weather has come in early this year. It's normally March-ish then the south west monsoon kicks in late April-ish.

I'm finding it very hot right now (end January) or is it just me? No, I am past all that :sneaky:

Was out with friends the other afternoon and jumped in my car and it said outside temperature was 40 degrees C. This is a bit hot, no?

I think that car temperature gauges read over-hot, especially in direct sunlight. Something to do with being encased in a block of metal I think, which makes the readings higher because of conduction.

This is why professional weather stations tend to be wooden structures with slats like beehives to let air circulate.

According to my weather chart the peak this week has been about 33 degrees C and that is close to my indoor temperature gauge.

The local people constantly complain about the heat. I can't compare as I was not here in January 2015. But when you ask how many degrees it gets cooler later in the year (on average) I get a reply that it is only a few degrees. I wonder whether that really will make any difference?

Depending where you are, temps can drop to low 20s Celsius in wet season and up to high 30s low 40s in dry season

I think it's more the fact that it's a few degrees higher and a lot more humid, and that makes a big difference.

:confused: why the aggro? No not just mt Kinabalu. In Sarawak, by the beach, at sea level, in December rainy season, it regularly drops to daytime temperatures of 21-23 c. In summer, which is also dry season for us, we get up to about 42c on the super hot days (and when the burning happens....)
