Default Ringit import - export

does somebody know the present rules of importing/exporting Ringgit in cash?
some say 1,000 RM some 10,000RM or 10,000 US in equivalent,

e.g.

http://www.tripadvisor.com/Travel-g2...And.Money.html and
https://globalconnections.hsbc.com/u...and-regulatory
Up to MYR 10,000 in domestic currency may be imported/exported to and from Malaysia freely. Above this sum, permission must be obtained from the COFE. Foreign currency may also be freely exported and imported by residents and non-residents without restriction.

in contrary 1,000RM:
http://www.customs.gov.my/index.php/...rrency-control
and the CUSTOMS DECLARATION
http://www.bnm.gov.my/files/new_curr...om.form.22.pdf

does it mean to declare an amount above 1,000 RM or is it the limit in cash?

any help welcome.

Hi,

Take a look here:

You'll see this is more up to date than the link in your original post.
