Default Police foil IS attack on embassies

Good to hear that the police are on the ball with this.

From today's Star Online:
Police have foiled an attempt by an Islamic State terror cell to attack the Saudi Arabia and Qatar embassies with the arrest of two Iraqi nationals.

Sources said the two men were detained by the Bukit Aman Special Branch Counter Terrorism Division at a shopping mall in Jalan Ampang at about 7pm on Thursday.

“They were planning to attack the embassies on March 31 at the behest of IS. They threatened two officials from the embassies to meet their demands or suffer the consequences of an attack,” a source told The Star yesterday.

Default Re: Police foil IS attack (again)

Once again, the Police seem to be on the ball again and have averted what may have been chaos in the country.

This is starting to get a bit too frequent. Hope that nothing happens

From today's Star Online:
Suspected militants nabbed while they were making bombs
KUALA LUMPUR: They tested bombs at the foothills of a mountain and were planning to test a bigger bomb deep in the jungle before unleashing their terror in the Klang Valley.

The IS-inspired militants never got to create the chaos they had wanted to.

Police arrested 12 suspected militants just as they were mixing chemicals to make the explosives. The militants were said to have enough material to make a bomb with a 500m blast radius.

The members of the terror cell were said to be planning attacks on more than five targets, including government buildings, nightclubs and other entertainment outlets.

It is the first time that IS militants have been caught red-handed with such instruments of chaos and destruction in what has been described as a new stage for the movement in this country.

Jesus that's terrifying.

When the IRA did that at Canary Wharf in '96 they needed a lorry.

I agree this a heartening piece of news and shows that good Muslims can take on the bad guys too.
