Penang Hill
Been to the 'top' using the funicular railway.
But is it possible to drive to the top.
Google Earth shows some 'roads' but are they roads or cycle tracks and if roads are they public or private?

Any idea on what the jeeptour would cost?

Re: Penang Hill
When the jeep taxi service was running it was about Rm80 return per jeep
Now the new railway is running I think you would need to arrange a jeep via, for example, the David Brown restaurant

Walk it. Great exercise. 58.45 is my PB. Starting at the stairs inside the Botanical Gardens gate.

Re: Penang Hill
Walking uphill in a moderate pace is probably not so bad, but downwards can be very strenuous on muscles and joints.

Yes totally agree. You actually see a lot of people walking backwards when they are coming down. Looks strange but is a good way to give the joints a rest.

Re: Penang Hill
If you want to walk up don't take the road, there are far too many fumes from the workers trucks that go back and forth. Better to go back down the road towards the waterfall temple. There is an archway leading to a path that goes up the hill to join the road somewhere near the top. Partway up there is a rest area with some Gym equipment if you fancy an upper body workout!

Don't suppose the view is too good from the top at the moment.

Re: Penang Hill
I imagine you suppose correctly. And the view is not good from anywhere at the moment, including Singapore I understand.
