Hi everyone
I just moved to KL and am looking for a second hand car from an expat in KL. Anyone knows anyone who is selling? The second hand car market in Malaysia does not seem very transparent so I would prefer to buy from a fellow expat.
Thanks
Sophie

You could try the classifieds on BE, or try mudah.my where I've seen quite a few expat adverts.
If when you say "expat" you mean "British" (and why wouldn't you, this is British expats.com!) then just remember Arthur Daley (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Cole_(actor) or if you're too young to remember him, just be warned that British second hand car dealers could put the shenanigans of the Malays to shame!)

Hi Sophie - I am a British expat leaving KL in the near future and looking to sell a 2 year old Myvi 1.5se with 19k Kms and full service history. Please contact me if this is of interest. Patrick

In Penang, there’s a regular email newsletter for expats produced by Spiral Synergy, who organise lots of events locally. The newsletter often features items for sale by expats, including cars.
You can sign up here:
spiralsynergy Events
This month the newsletter listed:
Lexus LX470 Luxury AWD, 2002, RM95,000 or best offer
Rover 216i Cabriolet Automatic, 1994, 118,000km, RM20,000
Proton Waja, 1.6L, automatic, 2005, 150,000km, RM17,000 or best offer
I know it’s a bit far from KL, but if the car is right and the price is right it may be worth the trip.
Are there similar expat email newsletters in KL? Anyone know?
