Hi,

Can anyone recommend some restaurants in Langkawi please?
We’ll be staying at Datai Bay, with car, but don’t want to venture far as it’s a ‘relax JC3’ trip. But I like to get out of the hotel once in a while.

Lots of choice at Pantai Cenang, but that might be a bit far away from your hotel?

Yes. A bit too far. We've stayed on Pantai Cenang on a previous visit, as well as at the Bon Ton, so now trying the northern Langkawi for a change of scene, but very quiet up there. Many thanks though SushiFan.

Yes, I once spent some holiday time on the Northern side of Langkawi. Although the scenery is great and serene, I found it a bit too isolated and remote. On the other hand, there is so much construction and building ongoing at Pantai Cenang that it is getting too crowded and noisy to my liking. Another blow was the closure of Beach Garden Resort, a few years ago.

Telaga harbour is near to Datai....Try the Tapaz bar at the south end of the line of mederteraian style buildings overlooking the harbour. ask for Alex the greek owner.
Couple of other good ones along Telaga front and usually quiet.
Best food is still at Bon Ton.
But you have 2 of the best resturants at Datai anyway :-)

Yes I second Bon Ton, best food we found in 2 days on Lankgkawi.

We went to Telaga harbour on a previous trip, so will look out for the tapas bar this time. I liked the Bon Ton for dinner too!

There is an excellent Indian south of Pantai Cenang on Jln Teluk Baru on the way to the Star Cruise jetty. It's at the north end of the SunMall row of shops. Slow service but excellent food. GPS: 6.281739 , 99.731327
