Oh my, that's hilarious! I can totally understand your worries. Maybe you should keep a small crowbar in your pocket just in case you should wake up inside said freezer one day. Thanks for the laugh 😂

A codicil in one's will may be a much better idea. Something along the lines of, if something 'unexpected' happens to me, all I possess goes into a trust for our three house cats.

In my case, ours rest eternally in our bush garden, not in a freezer. But I have to say I am worried about the new freezer my partner wants to buy...

More realistically, the idea of a small bank account with enough in it for one's partner to get by for a set period, say three months, is surely the best protection. Or a tin of loose cash under the bed, unless one has a particularly thorough house cleaning person (fortunately, we don't, but YMMD).
