KL-Padang Besar electric trains to start running Friday
KUALA KANGSAR: The Electric Train Service (ETS) from Kuala Lumpur to Padang Besar will start running from Friday.
Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said trains would ply the northern route twice daily, with fares from Kuala Lumpur to Padang Besar priced at RM81.
"We have ordered 10 sets of the electric trains, and once they are ready, the frequency will increase," he added.
Liow was speaking to reporters after a test run on one of the brand new electric trains from Batu Gajah to Kuala Kangsar.

We are newbies and need to travel from Penang to KL late August to finalize MM2H. Wanted to take the train. Does anyone know if new ETS would be available from Butterworth to KL Sentral as the old train is and how do we reserve or buy tickets? I don't see anything on the website about this
Thanks
Thanks

At the moment, there is only one trip @ 5.30pm from the Butterworth station, direct to KL Sentral ~ 9pm.
The fare is Rm60 per trip.
I wanted to snap some photos of the schedule, but was a bit late as the counter was close for the open fasting.

Correction!
Butterworth - KL Sentral (depart 5:23pm, arrive 11:15pm)
KL Sentral - Butterworth (depart 9:30am, arrive 1:13pm)
RM59 + RM2 admin fee

Thanks for the information but I thought the idea if the ETS train was that it took roughly three hours? This schedule seems the same as the the regular morning departure in the website?
Thanks again

The departure and arrival time seems awkwardly wrong.
I prefer to arrive KL early in the morning & get my business done.
That ETS schedule is wasting 3 days of my time

Rodi, my bad, the arrival time should be as follows
Butterworth - KL Sentral (depart 5:23pm, arrive 9:15pm)
KL Sentral - Butterworth (depart 9:30am, arrive 1:13pm)
