Crocodiles anyone?

I didn't think that we had crocodiles here. At least I thought it was back in the olden days. But it seems we do  Hopefully none in Penang.

A 3.6 metre crocodile weighing almost 400 kilos was captured in Banting by firemen. Banting is down a bit (south west) from Putrajaya. You can read a little bit here on the New Straits Times:

Seems your lucky up in Penang we have a few nasty ones living around Melaka in the mangroves apparently.
Fortunately we are not fond of swimming in the sea around these parts but I am told they have been seen near some of Seafood Restaurants near the coast

Current Distribution - Saltwater or Estuarine Crocodile (Crocodylus porosus)

There was a dead croc floating in the river in Kuantan a few months ago when we were doing our Malaysia road trip.
At least 6 foot long.

even if no crocs in Penang, the article contributed with two new words to my vocabulary:
Extirpated and Itinerant.
I doubt that I will use them frequently :-)

It may have been pretending to be dead :sneaky:

Wild and farmed ones here in Sarawak. Quite common.

It seems there is an itinerant crocodile in an area where they had been extirpated? ;)

And in Sabah too, including a bisexual variety - Tuaran Crocodile Farm | Places / Destination | Sabah, Malaysian Borneo

Hovite,
I hope that they won't be subject to extirpation due to their sexual itinerancy.

Re: Crocodiles anyone?

Gunner45, I don't think so as long as they keep their breath fresh and their teeth nice and white by brushing them night and day (like in the advert:D)
