City Centre Accommodation
So we are arriving in KL next weekend for a 2 year stint. We have four weeks to find ourselves some accommodation to move into long term. We've zoned in on the city centre as a convenient location because my wife doesn't drive and we think it will be easier with our baby. Does anyone have experience with the following apartments which all look suitable on the Internet: Binjai Residency, Hampshire Residency, Panorama, Marc, St Mary's Residence.
Looking forward to arriving next week!

Forgot to ask, what sort of premium will I be paying for furnished instead of not furnished accommodation for a 3 bedroom apartment? Is it worth renting furniture for 2 years?

The mudah.my website should have answers to all the questions you've raised. You can search by furnished/unfurnished, etc.

Yep, that's MYR per month. Have been looking and have found somewhere but not locked it in yet. One final viewing tomorrow. There is definitely an oversupply of apartments in the KLCC area at the moment.

There is a Classified section on britishexpats - take a look at the Blue bar at the top of the page. You can put an Ad in there for FREE, then you can put a link under your name to the left to change your profile.

You might want to check listings for Cendana Condo behind Renaissance Hotel. It is quite nice and well located with ample parking places per unit. Close to monorail, MRT, KLCC and nightlife.

Re: City Centre Accommodation
We saw the Cendana on the web, looks good, so we arranged a viewing. However, on walking in the access road is like a war zone because of the construction of the Platinum Suites next door. We rang the agent and said not to bother coming before we'd even crossed the threshold. No good with baby in a stroller. Shame as location is good and it looks very nice.

Re: City Centre Accommodation
Yes but Cendana has an covered overhead walkway directly linked to Renaissance hotel at their pool area. So when going out, that is the way most people take and exit from renaissance lobby and not directly out from Cendana. You also easily get taxis in front of renaissance. I agree that condition of jalan Cendana is quite bad due to construction of ongoing projects but other than when you are driving, you don't actually need to take that lane.
Hope that helps.

Just be careful of places adjacent to construction sites. Usually means a big increase in noise, mosquito population numbers and are at higher risks for dengue outbreaks.
