Default Changing to Maxis Hotlink 365 - help please

Ok I am totally useless with phone things. I currently have Digi long life number. Well it would be real tickettyboo if I could just get a signal. The signal is erratic at home. I go down Straits Quay a fair bit and I rarely get a signal down there too. So...it's got to go.

I'm thinking about Maxis Hotlink 365. I know it works at Straits Quay so that's an improvement at least.

Can I keep my current mobile number? Where do I have to go (in Penang) to change over?

There's a big Maxis store in Gurney Plaza, BB. I was told you can retain your old Digi No. We've tried Yes, and it's also iffy in our area.

Hi bakedbean, some months ago we also had weak digi signals and now it seems to be stronger. Maybe it has to do with the huge developement around with mirror signals?
We also thought to change to maxis but we will keep digi for now.

So I don't have to go along to the Maxis Centre at Northam? I know there is another centre at Queensbay. Gurney Plaza much handier for me.

Since I wrote the above post, someone told me that they were sure I could keep old number, so that's good.

Our Digi mobiles have always been erratic since we moved to Tg Tokong. I think you know where we live It seems to be partly to do with us being on a high floor. Have discussed with another condo resident and he has the same problem. I know that with Maxis I should be able to get a signal from the ground floor.

I am finding Digi signal at Straits Quay equally bad. I was at the art club at SQ last Tuesday and my mobile had no signal at all. Another lady there pulled out her Maxis phone and it had good signal.

So.....I think I shall go the Maxis route. It will be an improvement at least.

bakedbean, at SQ, we have a medium - strong signal, depending on where you are. In general, digi is weaker than maxis. Will test it at art club next week.
Understand your situation, so better go for it.

Yes it obviously depends exactly where you are. When we lived up Tg Bungah hillside we got good signal from Digi.
