Default Banks...any recommendations or one to avoid?

Hi, I've just been told my employment pass is likely to come through early next week (believe it when i see it!), but that will mean i can get a bank account...yippeee!
Can anyone recommend a bank or tell which are the worst to avoid!
Thanks,
Jo

In Singapore Maybank have the best interest rate of any.

If you are dubious about Malaysian banks you could try Standard Chartered or HSBC or one of the Singapore banks, OCBC, DBS, etc.

Presume you mean in Malaysia?? We've got accounts with Maybank and CIMB. Maybank has the advantage of so many ATMs of course. Depends what useage you have. I don't think the Maybank interest rates are much good. We have just also opened an account with Hong Leong as their interest rates seem far better.

HSBC, Standard chartered - only prob I think is lack of ATMs but if there's one or two near you, then it's okay.

For what its worth, I have had excellent service from Public bank. Nothing has ever been "too hard" and always service, fast efficient and with a smile.

I bank with CIMB and Hong Leong and they are always very helpful and put the banking industry in the UK to shame!
