What made you smile today? Part III

This is silly but it made me smile.
I knew our County District Attorney had retired last year but I hadn't taken much notice who had been voted in to replace her until reading a local news story.
Our new DA is called Tom Selleck
Yep, Magnum has changed careers!
I am sure he gets all kinds of corny comments

I see he's also an avocado farmer

3 months ago my daughter and Emma Radacanu were in the same maths class. Since collecting their A level results one has broken all records and is set to win the US open. The other has broken her wrist whilst crowdsurfing at a festival. It’s a proud parenting moment.

But what I liked about the picture was the way she's hugging the trophy. I'm sure she also thrust it skywards in the time honoured way but it was the hug that I liked.

I reject any attempt to limit a person by their place of birth or parentage - of the rebel leaders in the 1916 uprising, one was born in Scotland, one in England, one in the USA, two to an English father, one was a knighted Ulster protestant and one was married to a Polish Count...... but I defy anyone to question where their loyalty lay!!

She did an interview this morning, with the trophy, to a Chinese TV company where she was speaking in Mandarin, and she has done one in Romanian as well, she is trilingual at least. I can't see any other person getting the BBC SPOTY award this year.
