So many things to make me smile today. We walked down to the street food market on the New Brighton seafront. We live 3 blocks back and it's usually very quiet around here, but the sun is shining, it's 22 degrees, it's a Bank holiday and there's a market - it's absolutely chockers!
People have dug their shorts and sundresses out. There are sun worshipers laying about everywhere - park, bowling club grounds, street verges!! I overheard a young woman's friend caution her about getting sunburn. She replied 'don't care, I've waited a year for this!'.
The most popular food stalls on the promenade are those whose banners include 'bar-b-que'. I had a german bratwurst in a bread roll, which was very yummy. I resisted baklava stall but am kind of sorry I did
There's a couple of local bands belting out tunes, a double decker bus turned into a bar, and several pop-up wine bars with people sitting at little tables and chair in the sun. Tons of people have brought their furry friends along and every stall holder has big containers of water out for them.
An English seaside market on a sunny day. Now that's something to smile about
