We are going to be Grandparents

My gorgeous daughter and lovely son-in-law are expecting a babygirl in April next year.

I cannot describe how happy this makes me, this is something she has wanted for so long and finally it is happening.

I am a bit emotional right now, happy tears

Thanks honey.

Her OB doc calls her an "old mother", I guess having your first baby at 38 is fairly old!

I forget she is that old!

Many congratulations to the family. It's an exciting, yet worrying time. When you get to meet that little person for the first time, it's just pure joy and love.

Ah, nice one, SM.

How exciting, any preferences from anyone for a boy or girl? I guess as long as the baby is healthy and not a Chelsea supporter, it doesn't really matter.

Well providing the scans and blood work is correct then it is a girl.

And as both grandparents and mum to be are Chelsea fans...

Although SiL is a Middlesbrough fan ( don't even ask) and he is from Colombia so the poor baby will have some torn loyalties.

I've seen photos of her on FB, and didn't think she was so old, then I realized she's a year younger than me, and I don't think I'm that old either.

Hope the pregnancy goes well for her, she must be so excited.

I was at boot camp last night, and talking to a woman who I thought was around 7 months pregnant, she's actually due next Wednesday No idea how people keep exercising that far into a pregnancy, I'm sure gently exercise is beneficial though. I took pregnancy as the perfect opportunity to sit on the sofa and do bugger all for 9 months, might explain why 13 years later I'm still carrying baby weight

My nephew's wife's Facebook status yesterday. "Proof that having your tubes tied doesn't always work... Meet the newest member of our family" along with a photo of the baby girl she gave birth to a few hours earlier.
