Almost two months since we adopted this pair. Ms Bellatrix on the left and Mr Fluffy Bond, on the right, though he's more Johnny English, than a suave Bond in nature. Edit to add, the vet estimated that they were around 9 months old when we adopted them.

We hadn't intended to adopt so soon after Mr Carrots, but local shelter was having a few month wait list so we put our info in, but ticked the box saying we'd be interested in a bonded pair. They quickly called to say they had these folks if we were interested, as bonded pairs, especially black cats are trickier to adopt.
They had just come up from North Carolina, where they were in foster care since August...black cats don't do well down south apparently. Anyway, they were part of 5 cats that someone rescued, having seen them being thrown out of a moving car, in a sack into a ditch. One cat did not survive, another lost a leg.

These guys are in good health and spirit. Love looking out the window, but still freak out anytime a big car or truck drives by.

Thy are both wonderful and so are you my Bobling.

Rescued cats can make the best of pets once they know they are safe and secure.

Today is a bittersweet day....

For just over a month we have been fostering a young gentleman called Sammy, after rescuing him from a nearby farm.

He has been the sweetest timewaster that ever existed, demanding attention from playtime to snugglng up for a sleep in the evening.
He even got Peuga the heffalump to play with him - wrestling matches between David and Goliath.

This mornng at 0730 we handed him over for rehoming in Germany.
When we got home, Peuga spent ages looking for him.........

Aww

It sounds to me like Peuga has gotten used to having a friend, and you are pretty much committed now to finding a permeant partner in crime for him/her

What a pretty cat.

And yeah, second the suggestion that Peuga now needs a new companion.

Well, one of the issues against us keeping Sammy is that Peuga's dad, Mickey Blue-Eyes, is still with us..... so there are already two country-wise cats in the ouse. But we may yet rescue one of Sammy's brothers, Spotty, who seems more at home in the big outdoors.....
