With the pain I still have he is still leaning towards a form of Crohns but he also wants a few other tests first. So next week will be blood tests, a Hida Scan to make sure my gall bladder is emptying out ok and then an ultrasound and trays.

Of course I am coming off one yucky med and starting on another yucky one! But I feel it is an improvement over all. Just tired of being uncomfortable.
Not the news you were hoping for, you poor little chicken. So sorry this whole thing is dragging on so long for you, no wonder you're over it.

And it apparently takes 1-2 weeks to get the results. Usually tests appear online within 24 hours, but FIT the lab says 1-2 weeks, hopefully doctor will have results by next Thursday, she leaves for Christmas on the 6th and wont be back until middle of January.

Maybe it's due to the tests ordered; if you're getting checked for a ton of things it makes sense. I'm not sure but I think when I have to do it they're just looking for blood to see if I'm leaking anywhere.

FIT test came back negative so I guess that is good, probably no bleeding/cancer.

Er, yeah. That's good.

I know you want to find out what it is, but finding out that it isn't that is definitely good.

Ruling stuff out is good. Doesn't help the pain obviously.

Yes it does, at this point it seems to be the main option, rule things out til they find something.

Good news JS Is your doc going to do any more tests?

I'm still waiting for the results of my fine needle biopsy, I wish they'd hurry up!

Well that's a relief. Have you got any other tests lined up?

No other tests the GP is going to do, she is referring to a specialist so have to wait for the appointment. I would guess sometime in January, doubt I will get an appointment this month due to the holidays and in my experience most specialists take about a month to get an appointment once they receive the referral but I can't say for sure, the specialist I would imagine looks over what the GP sends and decides if its urgent or can wait.

Wait for the appointment now is all I can do.

Good luck SM. I hope you are at last coming to the end of all the tests.

Still haven't heard from my doctor re the FNB results, she'll call me as soon as she gets them, she's fantastic like that, so I hope it's not too long now.

Perhaps not unexpectedly, I appear to have become dependent on these bloody opioid patches and drug I'm taking for the compressed nerve. Have been all over the place in the past fortnight, and on two occasions I missed two consecutive doses (mainly through sleeping too long)

The first time I missed the doses I woke up with the most horrible sense of impending doom, I really felt as though something terrible was going to happen. I could hardly drag myself around until the drugs kicked back in.

The second time, I just felt really angry with the world and everyone it it. Flew into a rage over something ridiculous I read in the news, the rage was so ferocious that I scared myself. Again, all back to sweetness and light once the bloody drugs kicked in again.

Just from those two relatively minor experiences, I feel like I have a bit more understanding of how some people addicted to illegal hard drugs will do anything at all to get their hands on the stuff to temporarily ease their psychological and physical pain. I've never been a supporter of the death penalty but I might make an exception for those who control the manufacture and distribution of illegal drugs. Evil personified.

It's going to take about a year to withdraw safely from the stuff I'm on. Medical MJ was mentioned but is not an option for now, as it doesn't help with nerve pain.

Am holding off on booking my flights to the UK for April until I get the all clear from the FNB. As for the drugs, I'll have a letter from my doctor so I hopefully won't be detained in Turkey

Gawd, I wrote a book! Absolutely no need for anyone to respond to all that, I'm just using BE for self-help/therapy/a good whinge
Yours sincerely
