I get ultrasounds done within an hour, usually. I take the requisition from my GP to Mayfair walk-in clinic (5 minute drive) and it's often less than a half hour wait.

I went almost deaf after a flight to Vietnam, so I went to an 'international clinic' in Ho Chi Minh city to have them syringed. A very short man in a very long white coat wheeled a trolley in, with all sorts of terrifying equipment on including a bloody huge rubber hose. I thought he was planning to get the wax out via the long route. Scouse couldn't stop laughing at the look on my face
I know, I know, but needs must etc...

I've had them syringed out before a few times, but never managed the 'immediately' bit.

X-rays are like that here, I don't know of any walk in ultrasound clinics though, all the ones I know of while they do x-ray walk in, other imaging like ultrasounds require an appointment. Seems to be strong demand for ultrasounds and not enough places/techs to keep up. If you want to pay though there are a couple private clinics who can get you in typically within 1 day.

I have been going to the lab so much in the last few months, I have come to know which lab assistants cause the most and least pain when taking blood, and they know me by name and birthday, I have been making near weekly lab visits since September.

Every summer my ears get clogged - but living here, in Budapest, winter sorts them out - I suspect clumps of ice falling out sorts the problem!

I'd wondered in the past over seasonal temperature differences, never came to a conclusion though. It's one of those bottom of the list things that creeps up (unless paying strict attention) until one day blam, gotcha.

This time around I've tooled up with some seemingly active eardrops, a dog's dangly-bits of an Ohrendusch (rubber, about the size of a tennis ball, blue) to replace the wimpy shower head, and some other spray to be used preventatively when I come out to the other side.

I shouldn't laugh, but you tell the story in such an entertaining way (oops I laughed)

Blocked ears do make for extraordinary grumpiness, it's a horrible feeling. Maybe you can tell the doc that you've been using drops for two weeks so they'll do them straight away. All's fair in ears and wax.

My turn tomorrow. 7.30 am is upper scope time for me. Hopefully the dreaded ulcers are healed and I can stop taking the yucky medicine.

Maybe just keep one eye a little askew, just until I get the results of the FNB on the little one.

Whereas I'll keep everything that can be crossed, crossed for you tomorrow. Such a long and hard road you've had with this. The very best of best luck mate.

Good luck. Better a scope that end than the other.
