Beautiful day today. Took the trike out for a ride to a State Park and walked around one of the alligator lakes. It was all fun and games until one of the big boys decided to sun himself on the hiking track!

High expected to hit 92F/33C today, humid as hell which pushes the expected heat index up to 102F/39C, It is October isn't it?

EDIT: Record high for the 6th October was posted yesterday, can't remember what the forecaster said it was recorded at but my vehicle (which seems to be fairly accurate) recorded 92F while driving at one point yesterday.

We have had amazing weather for about a week now. Cool mornings and highs of only 82 to 86 in the middle of the day.

Now I find out by the weekend it will be in the 90's again with humidity back! On Friday, hopefully we will just be out of range of Hurricane Delta.

It does make one wonder what's so special about Louisiana, if it touches down there, as forecasters hint it may, then they'll have gotten walloped six times this year.

It is weird!
We walked along the beach today and just the damage from the outlying bands and wave surges we got from storm Laura and Beta were quite bad. If we had head on hits like Louisiana this year I think my house would be back to Hurricane Harvey status!

Yep..time to follow you and leave the gulf coast behind

Outer bands from Hurricane Delta having been hitting us since early this morning. Winds will pick up later this afternoon and the constant rainfall will become more severe but at least we are just on the outer edges and not in the eye! Sadly Louisiana is on target again.

I hope this is the last one this year

Getting chilly overnight this weekend it seems, expecting overnight lows in the 1 to 3 C range and 8 to 10 during the day.

Doubt we will see anymore 70F days until next spring now....lol

Days are also noticeably shorter and the daytime looks different, that fall wintery look.

Not looking forward to the time change in a couple weeks.
