Not a single bite between them. As for Barton, he's not much more than a pantomime villain, but his attempt at a French accent is extremely offensive admittedly.

Maybe no biting but definitely lots of arseholey behaviour.

Yes biting is bad but so is taking someone out with a deliberate bad tackle that could break a leg and end a career........add Charlie Adam to my list and that Shawcross thug!

Combined, they aren't even half the twat that Suarez is. He's a revolting, nasty, cheating little shit - made all the more pathetic because he doesn't need to be, he has more ability than most of the premiership combined.

Football doesn't need him - he doesn't do Liverpool any credit at all. They should take a stand, but the commercial realities of life are that they won't, and neither would anyone else. Agree with Pete - when you are led by a thief like Blatter, what chance have you got? Football really depresses me sometimes.

Oh back from 'travelling' are we?

Agreed football is bad news sometimes. Even so I would like to have Suarez round for tea one night, just to get inside his head. Plus it would be interesting to see if he could stand an hour of my daughter talking about 'One Direction' round the dinner table.

Maybe going round to your house should be part of his punishment. Maybe that would be something that would make sure he didn't do anything like this again.

It's the fact that Suarez insist on every occasion that he is not only innocent, but that there's a conspiracy involved. He's the footballing equivalent of Rush Limbaugh.

He has kids of his own, Im sure hes used to it (or something like it, Dora the explorer perhaps based on his kids ages and my own experience!). I dont know how far into his head an outsider can get, this is clearly something liverpool have been working with him on for a while and clearly hes not fixed.

By all accounts when he is away from a footy pitch hes a lovely humble guy. But something in his head can go "ping" when hes chasing a game. Hes not unique, but hes a frequent offender, and hes firmly in the spotlight when it happens.

As I said earlier, hes marvelously talented as a footballer, but deeply flawed as a sportman.

Liverpool so far seem to be holding a waiting brief, and assessing their options. My guess now is he will be gone by the end of the summer.

To be fair, with the Ivanovic bite he apologized immediately and didn't try to blame anyone else. That's why this time is so very disappointing for me, its a retrograde step.

I wonder how much the management he is currently under has an influence here. The whole of Uruguay seems to be in denial.

Probably a factor one way or the other. Its of course possible that the previous apology was more a reflection of the actions of the liverpool management and what we see now is the true character... But on the face of it he does not appear to be a bad man, rather hes a man that sometimes does bad things.

Fine. But we don't judge the man, we judge the footballer. Craig Bellamy has behaved like an absolute cheb end for a large part of his career - he's a chippy little bastard. But he has also given more than 1 million pounds of his own money to the foundation he started for Sierra Leone. That is utterly wonderful. It doesn't detract from his knobbish behaviour as a pro though. Same for Suarez. He's a grade A twunt.

Mike Tyson was a hell of a boxer before he bit off a chunk of Holifield's ear; being talented is nothing.

I personally am waiting for him to do a tearful interview with Oprah, Barbara Walters, Christina Saralegui, or other suitable show; admitting between sobs that he has a problem; insinuating that it was due to the trauma of his horrible parents and childhood- but saying that he is ready to admit and confront his problems....but beseeching the world to give him a second chance; volunteer to have his teeth surgically removed and donate them to "Teeth For Kids" or similar charity, along with a substantial donation to the poor Uruguayan and Scouse children. We can forgive Bill Clinton for rape, what's a little bite between men playing ball?
