Well indeed, many PL clubs are in debt to the tune of hundreds of millions are they not? Spanish clubs too. How long before football goes to the wall and we all start watching test cricket?

Liquidation looks a cert! Lot depends on the administartor on what happens next... but the adminsitrator was hand picked by the owner who is a known asset stripper... so I would say they are phucked!

However at worst(or best if your not a rangers fan) they will be back as a newco... and if there is any justice they will have to start again in the 3rd division and be forced to bring on young Scottish talent(their fault 2 decades of Scottish youngsters got little investment)

I find religion has no place in football also but I don't get where you can connect Celtic to having a religious bias? CFC has always been a club that had supporters, players and managers both catholic and protestant so your comments are...well, wrong!

Yeah but just being left with Celtic up top is a bit dull no? Who wants to watch a one horse race all season?

Jaysus, can the population handle that?

Surely given the collective trend to the attention spans of gnats a switch to a more adult pursuit would blow their minds?

5 days?! What, like follow the ebb and flow of a sporting contest that has depth and, mostly, integrity?

It will never catch on.

As far as I can tell the whole Old Firm thing is a nasty pointless continuation of some feud that is ancient history. I view from afar though so will take your advisement

Sorry Vim, I know you're a cricket fan, but I'd rather watch paint dry, maybe I'm just shallow

Don't feel bad, leave the subtle stuff to others and you enjoy the overpaid men feigning injury and rolling around

I guess you only watch it because of the thighs, I have the same kind of motives with women's tennis

Fair point, but before rangers last owner started living beyond their means and forcing other clubs to do the same to compete, football in Scotland was a lot more competitive... look at the success Aberdeen had under Ferguson?! Downsize and live within our means and Scottish football can survive without Rangers football Club! Perhaps then we will see more attenion to bringing on young Scottish players and start producing top players once again!

Apparently there is also a UEFA rulling that would allow Celtic to leave the SPL if they are in a non-competitive league. Although there seems to be a lot of opposition to them joining the EPL especially from middle of the table EPL teams who would end up pushed further down. Before anyone comes on saying "we don't want you's" well at the end of the day the fans will have no say! If SKY sports wants it... then who knows?!
Personally I think its just a pipe dream though and won't ever happen... would love to see it though!

Then consider what the impact would be of the Scottish league ceasing to exist.

When you have updated your knowledge of the 'beautiful game' past 1972 come back and enlighten us all with your new found insight.

Oh and please feel free to keep insulting me. It doesn't hide your ignorance from anybody.

"Peacocks"
Ah, further proof that the number of ROFL smileys in a post, is inversely proportionate to both the IQ of the poster and the weight of his argument.

The main reason the SFA oppose a GB Olympic team is the fear that the 'Home Nations' would lose their special FIFA status and would be forced to field a GB team in all competitions. Bugger all to do with Scottish, English or combined club leagues. I still await proof to support your claim that "Both FA's are against it".

Shit. For. Brains.

Jog on pal. You have no idea what you're talking about. Stick to insulting people. It's your specialist subject.

As I thought ... absolutely zilch, as usual, to back-up your asinine pronouncements. Now, are you going to provide evidence, or are you going to admit you're full of shit?
