He got the result right, just not the scores, New Zealand never really in the match after that first try. I saw on SM that someone had already got a tattoo of the RWC showing New Zealand winning it in 2019, bet he feels a bit of a fool now.

Woo-hoo! Well that has cheered me right up . Really hoping for an England v Wales final. All quiet in this bit of NZ :hysterical:

Great to finally win a WC match against NZ.

Shame about the two disallowed tries, especially the first.

Always a grey area for me, dummy runners, and seemed typical that so often NZ will have two or three in one go all effectively blocking the opposition from getting to the guy receiving the pass and that England, with only one doing it get penalised "because contact was made" with a New Zealander and that contact was actually because of a tackle on a player without the ball. There would potentially be no contact but for the NZ guy doing what you are not supposed to do,.

No way, **** the Welsh. England taking apart the South Africans would be lovely.

Given that I've just found some Welsh ancestry that I didn't know about, I concluded that in an England V Wales final I couldn't lose :sneaky:.
However, let's smash the Springboks this weekend

Our local supermarket has suddenly become devoid of all rugby references , Halloween stuff has suddenly taken pride of place and no-one mentioned the game
Sometimes living in New Zealand can be amusing!

I don't know what to do Saturday morning. The coverage in Canada comes from NBC. The guys in the studio seem to know they're stuff but I've no idea who they are and they just don't sound right. Apart from when Eddie Butler is commentating, the others are New Zealanders and that's perfectly fine.

But my beef is what happens at the end of the match. Within seconds there's a commercial break. There's no sharing the joy of the players on the pitch and I really missed that against NZ. After the break they were back in the studio for a brief summary and there was one interview. Nope, not with anyone on the winning team but Kieran Read. Legend though he is, what about the winning team? :frown:

I've checked the schedule and they're not allowing any more time the usual for the final. I'm sure they will extend in the event of extra time but it's hard to see how the trophy presentation will be included.

When we won it in 2003 the immediate aftermath was very special and the viewers were involved in the joy. I know I was. The thought of cutting straight to commercials and then some disembodied studio chat with nobody invested in the outcome is horrible.

I have a working VPN that gets me ITV and I have a TV set up in my bedroom where I could watch it with the attached computer, knowing if something interrupts it I can switch over to Canadian TV. But I don't want to be locked away in my room, I want the comfort of the living room and access to the kitchen without going up and down the stairs.

I can't guarantee remaining silent and if I am noisy I'm much less likely to wake up others in the house (6.00am kick off) if I'm downstairs than up.

Of course, ITV is commercial too. What do they do at the end of the match?
