Default Rugby League 2005

The new season is upon us ...
Leeds beat Hull ..... St.Helens beat Widnes and Wigan stuffed Salford

Plus Andy Farrel maybe off to play kick and clap ....

Any thoughts on the new season ??

Was just a warm up game mate. What till you lot come to The Willows, a repeat of 9 years ago looks likely.

Sad that the rah rahs have to steal the publicity away from the new rugby season by distracting the media to its 'Farrell signs to RFU' spin. Good timing or what?

To be honest thank f*** he's going at last we can give Scully the GB armband and get someone in who the Aussies can't read like a book.

My team to watch will be Warrington don't think they'll win but I expect a top 5 performance.

Farrell is almost certainly off to the kick and clap game . Why else would Wigan be after Sonny Bill Williams ....
According the experts in the pubs and clubs the deal is done and Farrell just has to agree personal terms with the RFU. Most people agree that its a good deal for Wigan ...an ageing player on a huge contract .. Wigan get lots of filthy money from the RFU and spend it on at least 3 new players.
As for Scully .... he'll be passing the GB armband to Sean O'Loughlin soon enough

Leigh seem to be on for a quick return to lower level after Saturdays game .

Wakefield and Warrington look set for a big season ...

You may get to laugh again this week .... I don't see Wigan beating Bradford.
Wigan will do well to unload Andy Farrell, with the salary cap restrictions we are restricted to buying French journeymen to cover the gaps left by injury. Releasing Farrell will at least open up some funding for at least a decent import and not a Union/Wire reject.

Wigan's loss did ruin what had started out as a good weekend ... Leeds steam rolling Saints certainly made for a beery Friday night ....
