TBH, after the last week at OT, nothing could upset me today...to see kids coming out of our academy and taking the game to a top-class side like the Gooners just has me burstin' with emotion!! Varela never gave Alexis a kick (after rugby-tackling him for a booking on 8 minutes), Rashford finished like an experienced pro, big Tim came in at LB for Rojo and looked like he'd been a regular 1st teamer for years....there's nothing beats seeing the kids making the step up against quality opposition....your lot have had a few done similar over the years, so you know what I mean....buzzing!!

Good luck to the guy, and to Everton. He's got some ambition and plenty of money. Obviously Kenwright will still call the shots, but I think he'll be a reasonable fit for Everton.

A new era of the Premier League where it is more and more open than it's ever been?

A Premier League that is open is a good thing but I can't help but wish that it was that way as a result of the increasing quality of home grown talent, rather than more and more money being pumped into it from outside. Let's be honest, from the moment there ceased to be a First Division; simply throwing in money hasn't always exactly made football the best it can be in England.

Meanwhile former greats like Jimmy Greaves (see a recent article in the Telegraph, I believe...) are having to have their families beg for people's charity to be able to pay for medical bills as they come towards the end of their lives....while the FA sit back and do nothing for them. It's a travesty than modern players, most of whom will achieve next to nothing compared to legends of the past, will be able to retire in comfort by the time they reach 30, whilst the players from yesteryear have to struggle to make ends meet....

There should be a wage cap introduced, to prevent clubs spending themselves into oblivion chasing the 'golden goose' of CL football, but that will take legislation (given European employment law), and can anyone see the useless oafs that dominate politics actually achieving anything useful...? No, thought not. If they were prevented from simply spending the money on players' salaries, perhaps the clubs might think about ploughing some of it into underage academies and grassroots football, where the next generation of 'Rashfords' (had to get that in there...

It would perhaps have made things better if the money was STAYING within the game, but it isn't....it's going into players and agents' pockets and being frittered away on fancy houses, cars etc.

But Spurs have 11 games to go, if they win their game in hand they're top with 10 to go.
