If Spurs hadn't tried to sign Diaz at Christmas and forced us to make a move we'd probably be out of all the competitions by now.

****ing Hell some journalist asked Pep if they'd give Real Madrid a guard of honour for winning the spanish league. Since when has anyone done that? At this point of the season it's entirely possible PSG, Real Madrid and Bayern could all be in the Champion's League facing each other so what would they do? Take it in turns to give each other a guard of honour? Why would they let someone with absolutely no common sense be a sports journalist?

Not that I have any room to talk but this picture was tweeted as the only time a Manchester Club in Blue will touch the European Cup

One Continental trophy down, another to go.
Seattle are CONCACAF Champions.
When I first had Seattle as a second team, in the second tier of US leagues in a stadium with just 3,000 people. I was able to do because there was never a chance of the two teams facing each other in a competitive game.
Now it's very possible for Liverpool to play Seattle in the next World Club cup at the semi final stage.

That's if it goes ahead.

The last one was delayed to earlier this year with the next domestic season already being interrupted by the WC(for nations) doing the same thing next year won't be particularly practical. There's also the fact FIFA want to make it bigger and that's also been delayed.

It might well be that the next one turns out to be the bigger one - which the European clubs don't like anyway, having already threatened a boycott.

If it gets delayed again, whatever format they use, then it might be a tournament for 2023 Confederation champions unless they did something like Summer 2023 for this year's champions and back to December 2023 to realign.

But how would the European clubs feel about a domestic season squashed by a world cup and then two world club tournaments 6 months apart?

You have to wonder where these stories come from.

Manchester City consider signing Paul Pogba on free from Manchester United, willing to offer World Cup-winner a four-year deal

Pogba is interested in working with the Manchester City head coach, Pep Guardiola, who believes the World Cup-winner could operate in a deeper role in midfield
I'd question whether Guardiola has actually made this known, not least because Pogba has been absolutely awful for ManU anywhere in the back half of the pitch.

Granted he can make the occasional good long pass but that's just not something in City's game and unless they're going to sign Mbappe there's probably not much point.

I suppose they could sign Rashford as well as he can get on the end of some but they'd need to teach him how to play football all over again.

I would take the massive piss out of Man U right now, but we are playing Liverpool in a bit

Where ever Pogba goes they need to have a strong captain to make him work, I'm not sure City have replaced Kompany yet in that respect but their players are professional enough to get the job done anyways. Adding Pogba to that would cause all kinds of issues.

One doesn't have to wonder - it's Pogba's agent trying to link him to Citeh to drive up price, wages, signing on fee and agent's cut....

He's not a Pep type of player as he doesn't work hard enough it was exactly what Ronaldo's agent did to get more money out of Yernited

Kompany will probably never be matched as a leader tbh - Ruben Dias pretty good but no Vinnie

Well seeing as the European Darts Open was on at the same time as the Yernited game then the Darts won. Citeh can have Pogba and we will take MVG.

Sure, normally, but it's the claim that Pep would use him where individually he's useless as well as not suited to Pep's tactics.

If the club and all concerned know it's utter bollocks it's not going to work. Anyone interested in Pogba just won't believe that. In Ronaldo's case it probably made no difference to wages, they'd have paid it anyway.

Lukaku's agent could claim Pep said he was the sort of player City needed but nobody would believe that. There has to be some level of realism involved. Sergio Ramos considering move to ManU, for example. He stayed and got the desired pay rise at Real Madrid, but at least it was believable at the time it was put out there.

There's 'possible' and there's nonsense.
