A guy a know who worked the last game as a steward said the club didn't even ask if he had a negative LFT or a Covid pass, nor was he instructed to ask fans to show theirs. I thought they were a legal requirement to attend matches in England..

Only have to show a covid pass if you are attending a venue with over 10,000 attendees.

You only need to isolate for 7 days in England now as long as you show negative on a LFT

Certainly are no passes required at DC they have kept crowds to 10k, ground only holds 11k anyway.

I know it's outdoors, but the concourses and things and crowds going in/ out as well as when seated mean it can only be considered quite 'high risk'....especially when you see on telly that literally nobody is even wearing a mask.

I'm gutted the Saints game I was home for was called off, but was also slightly relieved not to have the worry about the people you'd be around.

To be honest I am beyond worrying, it is outside so plenty of ventilation and minimal risk of infection spreading.

I am triple vacc’d but have had both delta and omicron, we have done all we can with mass vaccination programmes to improve infection rates and risk of serious illness and death, time to get back to some sort of normal and deal with living alongside the virus.

That's nice for most people to be able to choose, but I'm immuno-compromised, so at higher risk of hospitalisation. I'm currently still required to self-isolate after testing positive on Christmas Day and again on NY Eve. Looks like the latest one may be positive too.

My only concern is the unseen damage to your organs. Killing off the anti-vaxxers is no biggie, they've made their choice so they can pay their price.

Agree really. I just got boosted this morning. Never had a positive test, don't believe I've ever had it either so I've done what I can to avoid it but the killer at the moment is travel. I'd like to be in Saudi every other week and like to nip home to the UK again in Feb and March but the hassle and risk of being stuck somewhere is just a bit much.

It's running riot through our offices here at the moment, so I'm back home most of the time to be sensible / safer. I don't fear the virus but I'd rather not have it and would rather not have it, not know and give it to someone who might suffer more than me from it's effects.

I still feel responsibility to protect those who need it, but like DLD is doing, the responsibility is shared by them as well.

I'm surprised that people don't take that smidge more care by just wearing a mask at the football, if I'm honest.

Well done Scampi for taking some social responsibility! Think most people in the UK are so over the virus now and just want to get on with life as normal. I work in the NHS with a team of docs and nurses, they all travel overseas and have done for the last year or so, they all socialise in groups as normal, most of them went out to New Year bashes etc none of us wear masks when working together (although obvs still wear them when visiting patients), really think we have to accept we have done all we can now and just get on with life.

As for travel, I have not been overseas for 2 years and I am going bloody everywhere in 2022, got a Spain and Italy trip booked already and we are also planning a trip to Dubai in November for our 25th wedding anniversary so beware Scampi, we may turn up on your doorstep expecting you to show us how to paint the town red!

Isn't that a bit like saying you've worn a condom at swingers parties but there's still STDs about so you may as well not bother wearing them?

Anywho back on to the football. Xhaka must be getting on up there with Ramos for stupid red cards.

Holy shit this game could probably go on for a couple more days and we still won't score.

Yep share that assessment - lots of energy but not a lot of quality and composure

I'm pretty much with you. I think it's time to move one, careful optimism about this strain being milder means hopefully those who need better protection are safer to come out more.

November - gotcha. Would happily buy you both a beerio or share some suggestions where we can.
