So England topped their group. So the reward is playing the 2nd place team in Group F. That group contains France, Germany, Portugal and Hungary. Currently Germany are in 2nd. All 4 teams in that group can end up in 2nd dependent on their next set of results.

Advantage being that its played at Wembley though, looking like Spain would have been the other option so rather have home advantage - if that's a thing anymore! Belgium look strongest by far to me currently

It's coming home.

It's going to be Portugal - I can feel it in my bones.
They can treat it as an induction session for the semis & final, with some warm weather training in Rome in between.

I'm thinking we end up facing Germany - I will be shocked if we face Hungary but if they go at it they may well surprise us all!
Saka and Grealish were refreshing to watch - nice to see players running at defences and opening up the attacking third for us with freedom and movement. I'm sure that's what every England fan was trying to say, so confusing as to why Southgate cannot see what clearly everyone else sees! I would hope Saka and Grealish start our next game but I see, unfortunately, Foden taking the place back from Saka from the next game. I also think Rice will be benched in favor of Henderson. I think Grealish may start though. I would love DLC to have gotten some game time, I think his speed and aerial threat would seriously have added something to the wing players we have! I think our next line up will be:
Pickford
Walker Stones Maguire Shaw
Henderson Phillips
Foden Grealish Sterling
Kane

I don't like this 4-2-3-1 much, we seem to much more exposed at the back with roaming wingers behind Kane. Depending on the opposition, we may revert to a 5-3-1-1. I'm thinking especially if it's Germany with their free roaming wing backs. Directly countering their pacey cross machines with our own pacey wing backs might work, but it will require midfielders to be quick transitioning from defense to attack.
Our midfield right now appears too sluggish to do that. They get the ball and almost always pass it sideways or backwards. Might be a little better with Henderson, but I don't see it being transformative.
We will probably fall at the next hurdle.
