Anyone used this wireless service from Cloud Italia ?
I'm fed up of paying TIM best part of 40 euros a month for a phone line I don't use and Internet speeds little over 1Mb when I'm supposed to get 8Mb.
Hence I'm looking at a wireless solution, but I can't figure out from this whether there is an unlimited data option, any ideas ? anyone using it ?

I used a wireless internet service for 2 years and I was very pleased when TIM put an ADSL into our village exchange. It was unreliable and the speed was poor.
You have to put an antenna on the roof and install a decoder box in your home that must always match the wireless technology that CloudItalia are currently using.
I would try to find someone near you who is already using it before changing.

We've used Clouditalia wireless for several years and are very pleased with it. You have to have line of sight to a transmitter/repeater aerial; but the antenna on the house is very small and neat. The download speed is comparable to what we get in the UK from BT broadband; and the service is much cheaper. There are no usage limits. Clouditalia also give you a phone number so you can make calls through the service.
We pre-pay, so every now and then they send an email reminder that the sub is about to run out. By Italian utility standards they seem pretty efficient to me.
So recommended, in other words!

We have been part time in Umbria since April and our estate agent got us a package with Aria. We paid for the modem and pay €20 a month unlimited usage while we're here so ideal for us. Not as fast as BT at home but it suits our needs and works all over the house.

We cancelled the contract with Aria. The Gigaset that I thought was useless or broken sat on a shelf for a year until I finally chucked it out.
About 6 months ago we received a threatening letter from a lawyer asking for the Gigaset back or a payment of around Euro100.
If your Aria box goes up in smoke don't put it in the bin even after three years!

With any modem or set top box for adsl or tv the equipment is always in comodato d'uso and must be returned at the end of the contract. As with evevrything in Italy, dont throw anything away for 10 years. ...

Internet: Just started using Eolo and am pleased at the speed of download (between 22 and 30 Mbps). They can also provide a 'landline' number. I had looked at them a couple of years ago but the coverage was poor and low speed; in the intervening time they've installed a repeater with up-to-date technology on a hill 2 km away to which we have line of sight. They have what I think is a good, unlimited deal on at the moment, €19.90pm if you sign up before 5th Sept. https://www.eolo.it/

I live in the Pescia area of Toscana, and was on clouditalia and my opinion on the service I would not be a able to write without parental guidance. The service got so bad that everyone in the area changed to a new company and have to say we get a constant 9-10 gb now over he past 9 months. It is also a nightmare trying to cancel the contract or to make contact with them. I cancelled the contract with them by their rules (recorded mail) and they continued to collect money via my credit card and the only way to stop them in the end was to contact my credit card company in the UK. Now fighting to get my 60 euros back.
