Specific question if you are in SICILY
Ok this is what I am looking to do,
Go up Etna in a bus and come down on a bike.
Anyone done this or more exactly, know if you can take pedal bikes on the bus that goes to the car park.
Plan is to drive from Riposto to Catania station, park car, chuck bikes in the bus, cycle down to catania.
I suppose I could just have asked if it is possible to take my bike on the bus

Re: Specific question if you are in SICILY
Etna is currently active, so how high you can go will depend on the authorities. As to whether you can take your bike on the bus, I would doubt it, unless it is a pullman with the luggage boot underneath.

Etna does not seem very active!
Only want to go up to the car park, not mountain bike.
They would be mountain bikes though!
Justlike the idea of rolling downhill for many miles

Sounds good to me mate, no idea how to go about it as I've only just arrived in Messina, but let me know if you're going ahead with it.
I'm desperate to go skiing on Etna if anyone fancies it / knows anything about prices, public transport connection, when the snow starts etc?

Re: Specific question if you are in SICILY
(specific question aimed at anyone who knows sicily well)
We cant decide whether to rent a cheap flat for a couple of months while we try and find a place to buy (then leave sicily while paperwork is sorted) OR to find a house to rent for the year while we look.
Any advice from those who've 'been there done that' ??
Also does anyone want to rent a place or recommend a reasonably priced place?
Sorry if this is a repeat - I did go through old threads first but a lot of them (to do with accomodation) were quite old...
Thanks!!!!!
