Default Shopping online... no card security number?

Hi,

I am with Intesa San Paolo, and would like to use my maestro card to buy some things from Play. But I cannot find anywhere a 3 digit number that could be my security (CV2) number that most places require to complete online transaction.

Does anybody know about doing this?

You know, I'd never realized that, but my Banco Di Napoli has no CV2 either.

It's a bancomat not a credit card, right? Can't us it for Ryan either. You can get a Flash from ISP. It should cost €10 + the sum you want. Then it costs €1 or less every time you add credit.

Sorry, Intesa San Paolo. ISP in our household.

There is.

Go to the Post Office and ask for a 'carta postepay'.

It's a pre-paid VISA credit card. You decide when and if you want to put any more money on it and you decide how much.

You don't even need to have a Post Office account to get one. You do need ID and a codice fiscale though. It costs 5 Euro to set up the first time. It was specifically designed for credit card payments in Italy, abroad and on-line.

You can even connect it to a PayPal account to receive money.

Check it out here - info only in Italian though.

We've got one of those - tried to register it online but something keeps going wrong. First tried over a year ago though, so maybe our Italian may be a bit better to work out what is going wrong now. Having said that, even our Italian friend couldn't work out what was going wrong

Have you ever tried to use it as a normal credit card ?
My understanding is that you only need to register the card on the post office website if you intend to use their on-line services like looking up your statement / card movements, transfer funds etc.

A lot of places don't accept post pay and as Misssparkly already banks with ISP I thought was the easiest solution other than a credit card. ISP also does Soldintasca card which is similar to postpay but that doesn't always work either.

PostePay should work for internet shopping though as it's Visa.
The Flash card thing from the bank sounds just as easy to get anyway.
Depending on post office times, it's not always easy to get there. My post office is only open in the mornings and shuts at 1pm.

I have a list of memorised closing times in my head for all sorts of things for every day of the week. It's a pain sometimes but must be more painful for people that work until 6 or 7pm each day.

Yeah exactly, it's a bancomat only. You can't use it online. You can however use it in shops in the UK as a bancomat now which is a good thing.

My Italian bancomat didn't work in the UK as a chip and pin card. I only tried it in one shop though. My Italian card has a 5 digit pin number. The UK ones have 4 numbers.
It was last Christmas. Maybe things have changed.

Yeah, but I'm a bit of an internet banking freak. Wanted to be able to top it up on line, then use it on line to pay for Ebay purchases.
