Don't know what they do, but I do know that with the exception of the Honorary Consul in Trieste, I've never found them particularly helpful or even nice. Fed up with sorting stoopid Brits out, I suppose. BE is better.

We may not realise it but perhaps there are members on here who do work at the embassy .....

If anybody from the Embassy does read our threads, they have kept bloody quiet all this time.

There is an Embassy guy who posts in the USA forum each time there is change in practices/laws, offices etc.

It would have been nice if somebody had come on here to forewarn us all that Rome was shutting down the passport service and everything had to go to Paris.

As usual we figure things out for ourselves and then pass the word on.

Well at the Paris embassy they have a subsidised bar, tennis courts and lots of parties. No doubt it's the same in Rome.
