Default Recommendations for a lawyer and accountant please

Hello

We are looking for an English speaking Italian property lawyer as well as an accountant.

Does anyone have any recommendations please? Preferably in the Turin area.

We are planning a permanent move to Italy in the summer and we understand that to buy a property, it is advisable to use a lawyer. The accountant is for other business purposes.

thank you

If it is a simple sale - ie you find a property, put in an offer and buy it, then there is no need to use a lawyer. I presume you are buying through an agent - in which case it is the agents job (along with the notaio) to make sure that all the Ts are crossed. If you arent using an agent adn know little of Italian property law then yes, use a lawyer, otherwise you are just spending a lot of money on things that will already be done.

Thank you modicasa. It is just that we have read several articles advising that if you are buying in Italy and do not know the market, you should take on a lawyer to work along the notaio. We will be buying through an agent. Naturally, we would prefer to not take on additional expense.

I went to 2 accountants in our town and both were expensive, slow and unhelpful. I had the feeling they were working for the Fisco and not me.
The Livorno accountant has experience of dealing with expat issues and I found them to be helpful.
