Polish people in Como?
 

Hi all,

I am Polish 33yrs, married to an Englishman, have 4yrs girl and moving to Como mid July after living in London for the last 13 years.

I am looking for some Polish friends, ideally with young children so my daughter can practice and improve her Polish, but also for myself to go out and have some fun:)

Firstly: are you one of those people who answers posts not addressed to them? (Was looking for Polish people…)

Secondly: your lack of knowledge of something does not mean its nonexistence.

Thirdly: you are already wrong: I am Polish and I am living in Italy, guess my daughter who is half counts as well;)

Fourthly: your joke is “out of date” as most of the Poles already have left London…

I have British passport so guess technically I am ok…

It will take a lot more to get Polish girl knickers in the twist:p, just after living in London for the last 13 yrs I am so bored of “Poles in UK” jokes…

I suggest looking for the carpenter in Peterborough…;)

Yes, I have been in Italy for relatively short time but the Italians have managed already to test my levels of patience and tolerance...;)

I could share a few Polish jokes with you but the good ones are only funny after a few vodkas:p

Don't know anybody in Como, Polish or otherwise.
Just wanted to say I was very privileged to have a Polish uncle who could tell the most hilarious Polish and anti-Polish jokes. He was one of those who escaped Poland via Tehran after the Soviet invasion. His father was shot on the doorstep of their home near Cracow; he escaped; but was later captured by the Russians.. His mother managed to get to London and died there of heart break.
He got to the UK and joined the Polish Free section of the RAF flying Shackletons over the North Atlantic. He loved Italy, and had visited with me on camping trips together several times. He died a few years ago still quintessentially Polish (as I will die still quintessentially British). We should still remember them sometimes; when we are making jokes about plumbers and joiners, and ethnic shops in Slough.

Thank you so much for sharing the story of your uncle with us:-)

Most of the time I am so proud to be Polish and reading your post touched me in my heart...

Polish sense of humor might not be as eccentric as English one but we do love a good laugh and can be quite good at laughing at ourselves...:D

I have travelled a bit and have found Poles everywhere: China, Libya despite the obvious destinations as US and UK.

I know that there is big Polish community in Milan; I am not giving hope for Como yet:)
