Good afternoon everyone😁
How much nicer it is, now that the temperature has dropped a bit!
We are going on a cruise in October (covid permitting) leaving Rome and travelling to Valencia, Barcelona, Genova and La Spezia before returning to Rome.
I realise this is a long shot, but does anybody know of a shop in any of these locations that sells british foodstuffs?
We were planning on going back to blighty for a visit earlier this year, when we could have stocked up, but now it looks like being next spring at the earliest!

This doesn’t quite answer your question but try www.britishcornershop.co.uk if you’re desperate for British foodstuffs, Branston pickle and oxo cubes included. They deliver to Italy and have sorted out the issues around customs and import duties.

The problem is if you bring it in personally then it may be taken off you or you could be charged import duty/VAT

I cant imagine Italian police searching for oxo cubes and branston pickle. She might keep a receipt to prove she didnt buy it in the UK.

As luck has it we are in Barcelona on a Saturday, so I will be paying the shop a visit. Thank you very much!

I have used the online british shops a couple of times, I can only find one that stocks oxo original and they want €90 for postage!

Anything I bring onto the ship in Barcelona will be taken off of me and returned when we disembark in Rome, I am prepared for that. I seriously doubt that we will be subject to much in the way of customs in Rome, and if we are I will be delighted to pay whatever import duty they like.

You will find Branston pickle in Mercadona and Dealz, both near the port in Valencia. I've never searched for OXO cubes, but Dealz is a good place for anything English. It's owned by Poundland, or one of those.

Reagrding customs, I don;t think they take anything from you within the EU, at least it's never happened with me. I regularly take spice mixes from Spain to Italy and Posecco back from Italy.
