NEED HELP PLEASE
Hi there. I'm George. its been my dream as long as I remember to move to Italy. My grandparents were Italian and though they both lived in the uk i still have (not particularly close) relatives all over Italy - Bergamo, Turin, Otranto.... I've been running my own roofing company for the last 10 years or so and had enough. Plus my kids are all but grown up now and so I'm really interested in moving to Italy soon as I can. Problems - I'm 46, i dont have a lot of savings so i would need to work. I've been struggling to find jobs for English speakers. I'm not particularly bothered where in Italy I work. I really love Rome, Florence but anywhere would do. I've been looking at work in the hospitality industry, campsites etc but if I have to do roofing to get by I would! I've been a roofer for 20+ years but I've also worked in sales, I have a BA (Hons) degree in media (!) I'm computer literate and tech savvy. I only speak VERY basic Italian for now - though i want to learn - which is why Ive not really spoke my relatives about this as they dont speak English at all!! I know obviously theres unemployment amongst Italians which is why I thought join here perhaps get some work with expats or else someone could point me in the right direction, a website whatever. hell i'd work in a bar if i have to. so basically i dont really know what Im doing! or if anyones got any preferably live-in work or on a campsite let me know!! appreciate any help thanks ;-)

Welcome to the forum. Have you tried looking at the indeed.it website?

Re: NEED HELP PLEASE
It's a difficult one as there is SO much unemployment in Italy and many people give up and return home. Every year there are recruitment rounds with the major UK campsite companies to work in Italy. I can't remember what time of year but look up companies that camp in Italy (Eurocamp etc etc) and find out when their recruitment is for the following year. They might want a maintenance man. That might be your way of working. Or finding big UK companies that have major offices in Italy.
Regarding speaking Italian see my post on someone else's Query post about living in Italy (today) about using Earworms Italian. It really works and was the only thing that stayed in my memory longterm.
These video's are really helpful too.
I hope the link is allowed. If not, go to youtube and look up videos by Italy Made Easy.
