Natural swimming pools
Hi everyone this is Suzy and Jeff, central Italy, northern Abruzzo.
One of our retirement projects is to make a' DIY' natural swimming pool, basically using Michael Littlewood's book as the 'bible'. As anyone any experience, either positive or negative, of natural swimming pools here in Italy? any comments/advise would be very welcome.
Thanks.

Hi Suzy and Jeff
I wanted to send you a private message but wasn't able to do this - without wanting to make this too much of a sale pitch and I know this forum is not for that, basically we design and build natural swimming pools throughout Europe, particularly UK but also in Italy, France and Greece. If you would like some comments and advice on this please see our site -----------and give me a call.
Best wishes, Tim

Sorry but it still sounds like advertising from a first time poster.
You can put your website address in your signature and it will come out that way.

Thanks for the interest, we have a builder and the design, also found a good liner to cope with the sunlight, just having some problems getting supplies, think we are going to have to resort to sourcing from UK.
We really wanted to know if anyone has personal experience of having one or swimming in one here in Italy. They are also called swim ponds, it has plants in an area separated from the swim area, which clean the water, so no chemicals or salt required.

if you do a search for bio piscine or piscine naturali you will get a fair bit coming up. They are really great looking.
I know there was a piscina naturale open to the public built near one of the lakes in Varese it was on the news last year

Re: Natural swimming pools
Many thanks for this info. We had been told by various pool specialists, that this type of pool does not meet Italian legal laws for public pools, we felt they were trying to put us off doing a pool that was not the norm.. As we are not renting out we really want to go ahead, so will do further research for supplies. Also trying to get decking - again told not used here in Italy. So more research !! Thanks
