Buona Domenica Lorna. Looks like you, as me, are part of the 60% that can't afford to go away?

Well we've already had one week away. Normally I take the kids back to the UK for a few weeks in summer but I'm not this time. Friends and family are coming out to us. They just cannot stand the weather in England anymore. First batch arrives on Tuesday.

Still here too. Economic -didn't know what IMU would cost us- and family *sigh* plus I need to re-do my passport. Thought I'd wait until after Sept in the hope of getting it back quicker. Last time it went AWOL. But it so, so hot this year. I am, once again, covered in heat rash in places that don't normally see the light of day. Do your family know what they are in for Lorna?

Alex wanted to watch a bit of the horse jumping and I was surpised and pleased at the thought and effort that had gone into making the jumps. They were quirky and lovely.

They are really looking forward to the sunshine and the pool and dining al fresco etc. but I don't think they really understand just how bloody hot it is. It might be ok if you can jump into the lake or the pool but night time is horrible and makes me want to get A/C. Not much of a breeze all last week.
London looks great from here doesn't it.

I have watched hardly any Olympics. Don't need to. OH keeps up a running comment that makes Italian commentators sound like novices.
