Default Freeview in Italy

This is a potentially stupid question, but maybe someone can help me out of my ignorance

Can I use my shiny new hard disk recorder / freeview thingy in Italy? As far as I understand it, there's Freeview there too, but will it work on a UK box?

Answering my own question just in case anyone else wants to know. I think the answer's yes. Apparently it's possible to pick it up in Spain (albeit with Spanish channels, obviously), so, seeing as it is broadcast in Italy, I can't see why it would be different there ...

Correct me if i'm wrong though, please

Hello, a potential problem could be reception. At my girlfriends house 1km away I can receive 17 channels including Mediaset Premium for the Champions League football but at home I can get only 5. Of which one is Padre Pio. Not my sort of viewing. I'm in Vicenza, NE Italy BTW.

The antenna is on Colli Euganei and it's serving the provinces of Padova, Vicenza and Treviso. We signal is weak at home and I have heard that there are no plans this year at least to install more antennae.
