I know this is an old thread but...
I had root canal 3 years ago. The tooth has started to hurt again, not sure how that is possible because the dentist removed the nerves.
On Thursday and Friday I used a pain killer that was so so. On Saturday in desperation I went hunting for sachets of Oki, an anti inflammatory. I found 3 and Mrs Sensible promptly took them off me because they had expired in 2011. aaargggg
I found 6 packets that expired Jan 2012 in my laptop case and used one before it was confiscated and hid the others.
The question is this morning my tooth is fine, no pain at all. 4 days of Jip and now nothing. Can teeth settle back down or is it going to come back with a vengeance.
God how I hate dentists and pain

I have a rootless tooth that regularly give me pain, but it is actually the gums around it. Your bones shrink, but your gums haven't.
Or so my dentist said when he suggested cut some away.
You need to get it checked though.

When I read your e mail I noticed that I was clenching my teeth together. Work is hard at the moment and I know I am a little stressed.
I will just have to try and chill a little.
At least I can stop worrying about the dentist. lol

It is now Friday and I have been concentrating on not grinding / clenching my teeth, while I have been at work.
I have caught my self once or twice but the tooth ache appears to have disappeared
So thank you very much.
I will go in September for a check up and clean
