Hi Chelsea Man - I have Italian Sky and can change the language on all the films that have English as original language plus most of the entertainment channels like Fox, Discovery etc where the show was originally shown in English. You do it through the info button on the Sky remote. HTH
Welcome to the forum anyway and if you are still having problems there are a lot on here who watch BBC etc. through their satellites and can give you the info you need. I suspect a large dish may be in order though!

Lol! Check out this thread then: http://britishexpats.com/forum/showt...&highlight=sky
and post your questions there. You will find a ton of info there already and anything you need to enquire about in there duffer will almost certainly answer for you. He'll probably come on this one too but that's the thread with the most info on it!

I cancelled Sky (mainly because they removed BBC Entertainment) so I get most UK TV (BBC Iplayer etc) now on MyExpatNet, £5 monthly and watch on my laptop - it can be connected to your TV screen as well.

Re: English TV
hi all, i am from London, living in Holland and i also have a trullo in Puglia.
you can also watch itv player and bbc player....etc in the internet.
you do have to use a VPN, you'll need to go to www.identitycloacker.com and pay a subscription, you thenm run this before you open your browser, select uk server from a drop down menu, and hey presto you can access all the UK TV sites as it appears you are in fact logging in from the UK

I was heartbroken when they took off BBC entertainment. Have kept Sky as we still can watch the films in the original language and put the Italian subtitles on for the less fluent. They also took the German ARD off. You will have to explain to me how MyExpatNet works!

Personally I prefer torrents like Nova and Torrentday, then you can pick and choose what you watch and when without paying either..

Re: English TV
The OP is asking to how to receive English TV channels, which I presume means watching the BBC and ITV. If you use a VPN or UK proxy server, you'll have access to the online services from outside the UK.

Re: English TV
I recently joined UKNova - I think I watch maybe two programmes a month off it - I really just don't get the need for British TV, it's really shite!! Just my opinion and I know many of you love it but I really just don't get it!! We watch it in Spain when we go and apart from the odd Dr Who or CSI (which is from the US and I get here anyway) there is nothing to watch. My daughter loves Cbeebies and that seems to be all I download from Nova apart from Live at the Apollo which is funny!
